LAB

It is vital that everyone know how to work in a lab safely and responsibly. Before you take part in any activities in the lab, please review the following lab policies and manuals (as pdf files). Further, you should browse the Dalhousie Safety Website for comprehensive information about working in a research lab. You should regularly visit this page for updated information and workshop dates.

Most of these resources can also be found as hard copies in the lab manual which is available in LSC Rm. 3078.

Here is a schedule of workshops that would be beneficial for you to attend. These workshops are free to Dalhousie students.

Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Training: general lab safety training/certification that is required for anyone working with chemicals

Sessions are held throughout the year.

Radiation Safety Training Sessions: you will need certification to work with any radioactive substances
